Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), which is
a Govt. Of India enterprise, is recruiting graduate engineers in specified
disciplines through GATE-2013. The online registration of applications by
candidates has begun from 24th December 2012. The position is for
Officer Trainee (engineering discipline) in HPCL.

Eligibility
Requirements
1. Education Qualification
- You should have passed the qualifying degree examination been awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering/technology in the above mentioned disciplines (full time regular courses only) from a recognized Indian University / Institute.
- If you are belonging to General and OBC-NC category, you should have secured minimum 60% marks in the qualifying degree examination. This is relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
2. If you are currently in the final year of your engineering studies also you may apply. However, if selected, you must be in a position to submit your final mark sheet by 31st August 2013. At the time of applying, if you are belonging to General and OBC-NC category, you should have secured minimum 60% aggregate marks up to the last semester examinations. It is relaxed to 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
3. Age Limit:
For general category
candidates: maximum 25 years as on 30th June 2013
Age relaxation for OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PWD candidates
will be applicable as per the Presidential Directive.

You must be medically fit as per HPCL’s pre-employment medical standard.
HPCL recruitment of engineers through GATE-2013 Selection Process
1.You need to appear for
GATE-2013 exam & on the basis of score/marks, you may be short
listed for further selection process. Scores of GATE-2012 are not valid for
this recruitment.
2. The selection process will include a group discussion /
group task and/or personal interview for assessing your knowledge, skill,
attitude and aptitude.
Job Features
1. If you are selected for the
position of Officer Trainee, you may be posted to
any Division/Unit/Subsidiary Company/Office of HPCL anywhere in India.
2. The work
involves shift duties.
3. You will
initially undergo 6 months training (with monthly stipend), on the successful completion
of which you will be absorbed at the management cadre entry level with pay.

1. The GATE-2013 Online Examination is scheduled on 20th Jan 2013.GATE-2013 and
the Offline Examination is scheduled on 10th Feb 2013.

3. On getting a registration number which is printed on your admit card, you have to apply to HPCL on-line at the “Careers Opportunities‟ link at www.hindustanpetroleum.com.
4. At the time of application, keep a scanned copy of your Passport size photo (in jpg/gif format less than 500 kb) ready. You should ensure that this photo should be the same as the one submitted along with GATE-2013 application form.
5. You should also ensure that your personal details, such as address, date of birth, etc. which you provide in your HPCL Online application are the same as those entered in the GATE 2013 application.
